Bait-driven cockroach elimination

Roach control that removes the colony, not just the sighting.

The roach you saw when the lights came on is the tip of a breeding population living in cracks, voids, and warm motor housings you’ll never see. Eco Haven eliminates roaches with baiting and harborage work — the method that removes colonies — not repellent sprays that scatter them.

Why roaches are different

An indoor breeder you have to out-think

German cockroaches — the ones in Northeast kitchens — live their whole lives indoors, breed continuously, and learn to avoid what kills them badly applied.

Colony elimination Baits + harborage, not sprays
  1. 1

    One sighting means hundreds

Roaches are nocturnal and crowd-averse — if you’re seeing them in daylight or when lights flip on, the harborages are saturated. The visible roach is a census message, not the problem itself.

  2. 2

The nursery is in the cracks

German roaches carry their egg cases until hatch — each one holds 30–40 young. The population lives in crevices: under appliances, in sink-cabinet corners, hinges, and the warm electronics of your kitchen.

  3. 3

    Repellent sprays scatter the colony

Over-the-counter sprays repel roaches into new voids — the bathroom, the wall shared with the bedroom, the apartment next door. It feels productive and spreads the infestation.

  4. 4

It’s a health issue, not just a gross one

Roach droppings and shed skins are a major asthma and allergy trigger — especially for kids — and roaches track bacteria across food-prep surfaces nightly.

  5. 5

    Baits win because roaches share

Modern gel baits exploit roach biology: foragers eat, return to the harborage, and the colony feeds on their leavings and each other. The kill cascades through the population — including the roaches you never see.

Our process

How we eliminate roaches

  • 01

    Inspection & flush

We identify the species, locate every harborage with flushing and monitors, and gauge the population — kitchens, baths, and beyond.

  • 02

    Sanitation game plan

A short, specific list — the grease trap under the stove, the cardboard stash, the drip tray — that removes the food and water competing with our bait.

  • Gel Bait Program
    03

    Bait the colony

Precision gel bait placements at every harborage, rotated to prevent aversion — the kill cascades back through the colony.

  • 04

    Harborage treatment

Insect growth regulators and void treatments stop reproduction in the cracks the baits are working.

  • 05

    Monitor & verify

Sticky monitors track the crash; follow-ups continue until they stay empty. In multi-unit buildings we advise on adjacent-unit strategy.

  • Why Eco Haven

    Roach work that actually ends

The difference between chasing roaches and eliminating them is method.

    Baits over sprays

Colony-killing gel baits, placed precisely — not repellents that scatter roaches into new rooms.

    Rotation against aversion

German roaches evolve bait aversion; we rotate actives so the program keeps working.

    Asthma-aware cleanup

Droppings and shed skins are allergy fuel — the plan includes removing what the colony leaves behind.

    Kid- & pet-safe placements

Baits go in cracks, voids, and stations — not on counters or floors where families live.

    Multi-unit strategy

Apartments and duplexes share walls — we treat with the neighboring-unit reality in mind.

    Monitored to zero

Sticky monitors prove the crash — done means the monitors stay empty, not just fewer sightings.

    01 — Behind appliances

Harborage #1: warm motors, tight cracks

The stove, fridge, and dishwasher offer everything a German roach wants — warmth, moisture, crumbs, and crevices. Precision gel bait goes exactly here, where the colony actually feeds.

Every pin is part of one program — treatment at the activity, correction at the cause.

You can’t spray your way out of a breeding colony.

The roach you see at midnight is overflow from saturated harborages. Gel baits work because roaches share: foragers eat, return to the cracks, and the colony feeds on their leavings — the kill cascades through the population you never see.

Repellent sprays feel productive and do the opposite: they push the colony into new voids, bathrooms, and the neighbor’s wall. We rotate bait actives so aversion never develops, and growth regulators shut down reproduction in the cracks.

From first sighting to empty monitors

  • Day 0

Flush, identify, and map every harborage. You get a short sanitation list — the goal is making our bait the best food in the room.

  • Days 1–7

Activity at the bait points is the plan working. Feeding roaches means the cascade has started. Don’t clean or spray near placements.

  • Weeks 1–3

The population crashes as bait moves through the colony. Growth regulators stop the egg cases from rebuilding it.

  • Follow-up

Monitors read, baits rotated and refreshed, any stragglers traced to their crack.

  • Verified done

Sticky monitors stay empty. In multi-unit buildings we advise on the adjacent-unit strategy too.

  • FAQ

    Questions homeowners ask about roaches

I only ever see one or two. Is that really an infestation?

Roaches are nocturnal and hide in saturated harborages — visible roaches are the overflow. One or two sightings a week typically means a breeding population in the cracks. Monitors tell us the real number fast.

Why did spraying make it worse?

Store sprays are repellents — they push roaches out of treated harborages into new rooms and shared walls. The colony didn’t shrink; it redistributed. Gel baits do the opposite: they get carried home and cascade through the colony.

Do roaches mean my kitchen is dirty?

Not necessarily — German roaches arrive in cardboard boxes, grocery bags, and secondhand appliances, and they can live on crumbs a clean kitchen still produces. Sanitation matters because it makes our bait the best food in the room.

    Are roaches actually harmful?

Yes — roach droppings and shed skins are among the strongest indoor asthma triggers, particularly for children, and roaches track bacteria across food surfaces nightly. Elimination is a health project, not just comfort.

    How long until they’re gone?

Populations typically crash within weeks of a proper bait program, but we run monitors through follow-ups and don’t call it done until they stay empty — egg cases hatch on their own schedule.
