Eco-conscious insect & pest control

Pest control that targets the species — not the whole yard.

Ant trails, night bites, a nest over the door — every insect problem has a species behind it, and the species decides the fix. Match what you’re seeing below, see exactly how we treat it, and get the prevention work that keeps it from coming back. No blanket spraying.

Start with what you’re seeing

Every pest problem names its species. Listen to it.

Where the bites are, when the sightings happen, what gets left behind — the evidence routes you to the right treatment on the first try.

Species-first diagnosis Evidence + location + timing
  1. 1

Ant trails in the kitchen — or big black ants

Steady trails mean a colony nearby. Large black ants indoors, sawdust-like piles, or spring swarmers point to carpenter ants — a structural problem, not a nuisance.

  2. 2

Bites overnight — or bites at the ankles

Bite rows where you sleep suggest bed bugs; bites concentrated at ankles and lower legs suggest fleas. The distinction changes everything, so we confirm with evidence before treating either.

  3. 3

Roaches when the lights come on

Night sightings in the kitchen or bath mean saturated harborages in the cracks. German cockroaches are a breeding colony you bait — never a colony you scatter with sprays.

  4. 4

A nest over the door — or buzzing in a wall

Paper combs under eaves, gray football nests in trees, or wasps entering a siding gap: stinging insects get species-first, safety-first removal — and honey bees get relocated, never exterminated.

  5. 5

Pinholes and flour-like powder on beams

Tiny exit holes with fine frass below — in a camp, barn, or crawlspace — are powder post beetles working inside the wood. Fresh powder means it’s active now.

  6. 6

    Ticks after every hour outside

This is Lyme country. Ticks quest from the yard’s edges, leaf litter, and tall-grass margins — zones a seasonal tick & mosquito program can defend.

  7. 7

More legs in the basement every fall

Spiders, centipedes, earwigs, boxelder bugs — the parade of crawling insects is a symptom of open entry gaps and moisture. Seal and dry, and it ends.

Eco-conscious pest control

Eight pests. Eight targeted treatments.

Every pest we handle has its own page — how it behaves, why DIY backfires, and the targeted plan that ends it.

Ants

Carpenter-aware

Kitchen trails, perimeter pressure — and the carpenter ants excavating damp wood. Colony elimination, not trail spraying.

See the plan

Bed Bugs

Discreet

Confirmed with evidence, treated through the hatch window, verified with monitors. No foggers, no judgment.

See the plan

Roaches

Bait-driven

Gel baits cascade through the breeding colony in the cracks — monitored until they stay at zero.

See the plan

Fleas

Whole-cycle

Home, yard, and the wildlife source under the deck — timed past the pupal window so it actually ends.

See the plan

Wasps & Bees

Bee-friendly

Safe nest removal with priority scheduling — and honey bees identified and relocated, never exterminated.

See the plan

Powder Post Beetles

Camps & barns

Activity testing, borate wood treatment, and the moisture correction that breaks the cycle.

See the plan

Ticks & Mosquitos

Lyme country

Season-long, zone-targeted yard defense — edges, litter, and standing water. Pollinator-conscious.

Crawling Insects

Exclusion-first

Spiders, centipedes, earwigs, fall invaders — seal the gaps, dry the basement, and the parade ends.

Our process

Target the species. Fix the conditions. Verify it’s over.

  • 01

    Inspect & identify

We confirm the species and find the source — the colony, the harborage, the breeding site, or the entry gaps behind the sightings.

  • 02

    Species-specific plan

Baits for roaches, evidence-first for bed bugs, timing for fleas, safety protocols for wasps — the species decides the method.

  • Targeted Treatment
    03

    Treat the source

The right product in the right place — harborages, zones, and voids. Kid- and pet-aware, pollinator-conscious, no blanket spraying.

  • 04

    Seal & exclude

Entry gaps, moisture, and harborage conditions get corrected — the Essential Seal™ side of insect work that makes results stick.

  • 05

    Prevent & follow up

Monitors and follow-up visits verify the crash, and seasonal timing keeps pressure from rebuilding.

  • Why Eco Haven

Targeted insect control vs. blanket spraying.

Anyone can spray a baseboard. Ending an infestation means knowing the species — and fixing what invited it.

    Species-first diagnosis

A roach plan aimed at ants protects nothing. Identification comes before treatment, every time.

    Targeted, not blanket

Precise placements over broadcast spraying — better results, less product, pollinators unharmed.

    Kid & pet aware

Products go in cracks, voids, stations, and zones — with clear re-entry guidance on every visit.

    Exclusion built in

Insects walk in through gaps and stay for moisture. Sealing and drying are part of the plan, not an upsell.

    DIY-rescue experience

Foggers that scattered the bed bugs, sprays that split the ant colony — we inherit these weekly and know the way out.

    Verified results

Monitors, follow-ups, and honest calls — done means proven done, not just quieter.

    Quick reference

    What’s bugging you?

The fast version — the signature evidence for each pest we treat.

Ants Kitchen & patio trails; big black ants + frass = carpenter ants (structural)
Bed Bugs Bite rows where you sleep; pepper-like spotting on mattress seams
Roaches Lights-on sightings in kitchen/bath; egg cases in hinges and corners
Fleas Bites at the ankles; pets scratching; worst after treating only the pet
Wasps & Hornets Paper combs at eaves, gray football nests, ground-nest stings while mowing
Powder Post Beetles Pinholes + flour-like powder on joists, beams, and barn wood
Ticks & Mosquitos Yard-edge exposure; ticks on pets and family after time outside
Crawling Insects Spiders, centipedes & earwigs in basements; fall invaders on warm walls

    FAQ

Questions homeowners ask about pest control

Why targeted treatment instead of spraying everything?

Because blanket spraying is how DIY problems get worse: repellent sprays scatter roach colonies and split ant colonies into satellite nests, and broadcast yard fogging kills the pollinators your garden depends on. Species-targeted placements put the right product exactly where the pest lives — better results with a fraction of the product.

Is the treatment safe for my kids and pets?

That’s a design constraint, not an afterthought. Products go into cracks, voids, bait stations, and defined outdoor zones — not onto counters, floors, or blooming plants — and every visit comes with clear re-entry guidance.

I sprayed store-bought stuff and it got worse. Why?

The two classics: foggers push bed bugs deeper into walls and adjacent rooms, and repellent sprays scatter ant and roach colonies into new territory. Neither reaches the queen, the egg cases, or the harborage. It’s recoverable — it just takes the species-specific method.

Do I need a recurring plan or a one-time treatment?

Depends on the pest. Bed bugs and roaches are projects with a verified finish. Ticks and mosquitoes are seasonal programs by nature. Ants and crawling insects usually resolve with treatment plus exclusion, with follow-ups to verify. We’ll tell you honestly which one your situation is.

Is my problem insects or wildlife?

Scratching, thumps, or anything with fur or wings bigger than a moth belongs to our wildlife control side — humane removal plus structural exclusion. Bites, trails, nests, and sightings of the six-legged kind live here.
